In the wake of an apparent double murder and suicide, long time friends recall the Wierzbicki family, while officials tackle duties such as confirming the cause of the deaths and finding homes for the familys pets. Although the case is still under investigation, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III said that it appears that Wanda Blahut Wierzbicki and Andrew Wierzbicki were shot to death by their 26-year-old son, Gabriel, inside their home, and that the son then killed himself. Wanda Blahut grew up on Central Avenue in Whitehouse Station with her parents, Bill and Lorraine, and brother Billy. Inverness man denies stealing family pets in Smithton A 20-year-old man has denied stealing 15 pets, including four baby rabbits, from properties in Smithton, Inverness, over three nights. James Marshall, of Inverness, appeared from custody at Inverness Sheriff Court and pleaded not guilty to eight offences. It was alleged that he stole four ferrets, four guinea pigs, three adult rabbits and four baby rabbits. The thefts were alleged to have happened between 20-23 February while he was on bail. Mr Marshall also denied stealing a packet of bird feed, a plastic container, a skipping rope, two hutches and attempting to open a hutch to steal a rabbit. Family pets survive Fishers house fire
FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) – A Fishers home was extensively damaged in a fire Sunday morning, Fishers Fire Marshal reports. At approximately 9:50 am, the Fishers Fire Department was dispatched to the 14200 block of Allisonville Road after neighbors spotted an excessive amount of smoke coming from the chimney of a home, reports stated. Firefighters arrived to find fire in the area of the chimney on the first and second floor, and in the attic, according to reports. It took firefighters about two and half hours to completely extinguish the fire. The family of the residence was not home at the time and two family pets, a cat and a ferret, were rescued from the basement of the home. The mom and dad were out of town on a cruise, while the two kids – ages 14 and 17 – were at their house with grandma and grandpa, he said. One of the kids saw the fire, quickly found his grandparents who called 911, Kistner said. Guadalupe County Sheriffs Deputy Brian Wahlert was the first to arrive, Kistner said. He was told that one of the kids may have gone back into the house to try to put out the fire and try to save the pets, he said. –> Clearwater, Florida — Two family pets were rescued from a fire Friday morning that left the home at a total loss. According to Clearwater Fire Rescue, crews arrived at the home on Hyvue Drive around 11:15 am with smoke and flames visible from outside. It took crews about 20 minutes to get the fire under control.
